5. Tim’s father, “Big Russ” was a truck driver, and knew the best spot to catch a glimpse of John F. Kennedy when he visited Buffalo. “Big Russ” set Tim on a mailbox, and gave him a nudge when Kennedy’s motorcade drove by. Tim went up to the motorcade and Kennedy reached out his hand and shook the youngster’s hand.
4. Tim loved baseball, he has owned season tickets since the Washington Nationals were formed.

2. Tim started out as an aide to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and moved on to become Governor Mario Cuomo’s Chief of Staff.
1. Tim only held 3 jobs his adult life: Working or Moynihan, Cuomo, and NBC. (When he started working at NBC he worked in the Legal department, but when he had to speak in front of the NBC executives, they were impressed with his political savvy, and moved him to NBC News.
